Proposal for the Online Program

In preparing our students to practice in the public relations profession, we are asking the St. Louis Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for its support. SIUC's public relations program is proposing a PRSA/PRSSA mentorship program. This program would be an outstanding vehicle through which we can strengthen the relationship between our student organization and the St. Louis chapter and present professionals in the area with an opportunity to mentor future public relations leaders.

The PRSA/PRSSA mentorship program would provide a link between public relations students at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and public relations professionals in St. Louis. It would be our goal at the beginning of the semester to team individual students with St. Louis chapter members as an "online buddies." In this role, we would ask professionals of the chapter to serve in an advisory or mentoring role, offering advice and answering questions regarding the field. Basically, you are preparing our students for future challenges by sharing your knowledge of the profession.
