Participation Criteria - Mentors

Through this program, mentors are asked to educate students about a day in the life of public relations professionals. They are asked to share information about their profession, and they can provide career advice; however, the mentors are not required to aid students in their job search.

Students are advised not to request job leads, but rather to learn how to become a successful public relations professional. If students do ask about jobs or internships, the mentor should refer them to the chair of the St. Louis Chapter job bank.

This program is a partnership effort by SIU-C and PRSA St. Louis. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to attain knowledge about the public relations profession prior to entering the job market. We ask that you serve as an "online buddy" to our students and share some of your own experiences that could assist them along the way.
