2008 Pro-Am Schedule

8:00 - 8:30 a.m. - Registration
8:30 - 9:45 a.m. - General Session – Preparing for a Career in PR Now & Your First Year in the Real World
- First, academicians and professionals from the public relations field address tips for success within the field including: What everyone should know about PR before graduating; when to start looking for jobs; what to include in your resume; how many internships are enough; what classes you should take; and how to make yourself marketable to potential employers.
- Second, recent graduates working in the real world share their insights on how they prepared for and found their first job. They’ll also discuss life as a being a first-year PR professional.

10:55 - 11:45 a.m. - Break-Out Sessions

- Nonprofit vs. Agency vs. Corporate PR

12:00 - 1:30 p.m. - PRSA-St. Louis Lunch
1:30 - 2:30 p.m. - Resume Reviews
- Students will have the opportunity to have their resume reviewed by PR professionals.
2:30 - 3:30 p.m. - Meet St. Louis public relations agencies! Area agencies will send representatives to meet students to discuss internships and job opportunities.
- Parking: Please park at the Laclede Garage at the SW corner of Grand & Laclede. Park in the visitor sections. If that garage is full, continue north on Grand, make a right on Lindell and park in the Compton Garage on the corner of Lindell & Compton.
- Location: All panel sessions are in the Busch Student Center at the NE corner of Grand & Laclede. Follow the signs once inside. The lunch and the subsequent resume review are in the St. Louis Room in the Busch Student Center.
