State of the Profession - Recap

March 19, 2008 - Ces & Judy's, Frontenac

Monsanto's Glynn Young, APR, Fellow PRSA, gave 125 luncheon attendees a look at "The State of Our Profession," March 19, 2008, with numbers and challenges to PR professionals as well as to the companies and clients we represent. Monsanto Company works more with interactive communications to the general public and now informs its own public through an extensive intranet that shows employees what others are writing and saying about Monsanto, what the competition is doing (and public references) as well as interactive capabilities for employees to voice questions and make comments. It has basically replaced the old company newsletter.

The site that inspired Monsanto's online news “publication” is www.daylife.com. For a copy of Glynn's presentation download the State of the PR Profession PDF.
