Tony Calandro joined Fleishman-Hillard in February 2004 and has developed state-of-the-art national on-line alliance programs used for public affairs, community relations, grassroots, and lobbying activities.

Additionally, Calandro has developed an innovative use of blogging, podcasting, and vlogging to drive awareness and reposition a corporation's image among online influencers. His clients are among the most recognized names in American business.

Before joining Fleishman-Hillard, he was the managing director for public affairs for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in Washington, D.C. In this capacity, Calandro was primarily responsible for developing grassroots and communications strategies, integrating traditional media with the Internet, brand strategy, and managing public policy campaigns. His on-line achievements were recognized by the National Association of Political Consultants as recipient of the organization's annual Pollie Awards for "most creative use of the Internet."

Calandro spent 18 years in Washington, D.C. working for members the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. He lobbied for a trade association representing post-secondary education students, and developed crisis communication and grassroots strategies for a variety of Fortune 500 companies. He has a B.S. degree in political science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a Master's of public policy from Rutgers University.

Steve Mays has worked for Learfield Communications, based in Jefferson City, Mo., since 1984. For most of that time he was general manager of Learfield's news division, which is made up statewide radio networks in Missouri, Iowa and Wisconsin. For the past six years he has headed up Learfield's online efforts which focuses on combining traditional and new media solutions, including blogging, podcasting, and live audio streaming. Mays has been blogging since February 2002 and recently began producing the "Living Healthy Podcast." He describes his virtual life as full and rich.


Jerry L. Bryan

Jerry Bryan is a principal of WebSanity, which develops database-driven websites that clients edit in plain English with an online content management system. The firm's three principals are in St. Louis, their lead programmer on the East Coast, lead technical consultant is in London, and their servers are at a national data center on the West Coast. With clients in seven states, WebSanity's content management system has built-in capability for websites to offer RSS feeds and podcasts. The firm's Internet services include blogs and wikis.

Bryan also is president of Bryan Consulting, specializing in communications and technology. He previously was CEO of a startup technology company that developed Web-based software; vice president of a 5,000-person international professional services firm; director of public affairs for the U.S. companies of an industrial group based in Europe; and vice president of a national public relations firm specializing in financial communication and investor relations. Earlier in his career he was a journalist, and press secretary to the Governor of Missouri.

He is a Fellow of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and former member of its national board of directors, former international chairman of the Business Marketing Association (BMA), and a former chairman of international development for the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). He is accredited by those groups, with designations of APR, CBC and ABC. Bryan has more than 100 years' cumulative service on the boards of more than 20 local and national foundations and civic, charitable and professional groups.
