2003 Speakers

December 2003 - Charlie Brennan of KMOX-Radio's "The Morning Show" shared some lighter broadcast moments and his interest in St. Louis history at the year-end "thank you" luncheon.

November 2003
– Hill & Knowlton USA chairman Tom Hoog shared thoughts on how PR people can rebuild confidence in the public eye in "Communicating in Uncertain Times.” Six area pros led roundtable discussions with a three-member panel topping off the special day following lunch.

October 2003 - Former TV personality and media trainer Tripp Frohlichstein shared videos of missed opportunities and how to make the most out of the simplist interview or media reply

September 2003 - Solutia's "Glenn Ruskin and Liesl Livingston" shared insight and numerous lessons learned from their firm's PCB legal settlement, “When a Smoldering Crisis Catches Fire.”

August 2003 - St. Louis Post-Dispatch editor and writing coach Dick Weiss demonstrated how to "Do the Write Thing." Knowing who you are is where you start.

July 2003 - FedEx corporate communications leader Shirlee Clark gave background on the "When it positively has to be there tomorrow" and the difference between brand and reputation.

June 2003 - Members of a PRSA/Ad Club panel tried to be nice to each other pointing out similarities rather than differences in a combined luncheon between the two local chapters.

May 2003 - New York City-based Paul Holmes presented the good news/bad news and opportunities of PR in our State of the Union as seen by someone who follows but is not in the business.

April 2003 - Investigative reporters "Jamie Allman, Jill Farmer and Michael Sorkin" help take some of the worry out when they coming knocking on your company's or client's door.

March 2003 - "Gary Stevens", Fair St. Louis, and "Mack Bradley", Mardi Gras St. Louis, looked at big events and how to prepare for and address worst case scenarios.

February 2003 - Former Disney and Sisters of Mercy HR consultant Claudio Diaz gave tips on how PR people can increase leadership skills. (Held at St. Louis University as part of Pro-Am Day).

January 2003 - A dozen different speakers conducted Round-Table discussions on a variety of topics. (Combined meeting with CSPRC and IABC at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza).

December 2002 - St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Betty Cuniberti helped us end the year with the lighter side of PR (gone bad) and non-traditional ways to get your client in print.

November 2002 - Christine Bertelson, Donna Korando and Ray Gunter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's editorial page staff gave us the story behind the stories on their pages and how to get in print.

October 2002 - Sue Jolly and Ron Penoyer, Senior VPs of Fleishman-Hillard's research unit, walked us through the extensive pre-planning and post-project evaluation to gauge the success of any public relations plan..

September 2002 - Bill Barksdale shared first hand experiences with major news events as a PA officer in the U.S. Air Force and gave tips on handling international media event opportunities.

August 2002 - Burt St. John, APR communications program manager for the U.S. Postal Service and a faculty member at the University of Phoenix shared the PR challenges of the USPS.

July 2002 - Charles A. Wood, APR, Fellow PRSA, Director of Communications for the Omaha World-Herald and national Chairman of the PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards.

June 2002 - Mark Ribbing, speech writer for Mayor Francis Slay of St. Louis.
