Communications Specialist

In partnership with America's growers, Bunge North America is the vital link that connects food producers, manufacturers and consumers worldwide. We are a leader in the North American food supply chain that extends from grain origination to the production of value-added food products for consumers.  Bunge is seeking the talent of a Communications Specialist to be based in St. Louis, Mo.

Overview:

Responsible for assisting director of communications in all areas of communication activities, with an emphasis on promoting and improving employee and public understanding of Bunge's objectives and achievements. Efforts will focus on electronic communications including management of web site and intranet content.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with director of communications to execute corporate communications program, including internal and external communications.
  • Serves as content manager for Bunge North America web site and Bunge North America intranet.
  • Composes articles or other materials for internal use to communicate policies, values, activities or news including newsletters, announcements and presentations.
  • Builds relationships with Bunge's business units and helps facilitate message alignment throughout the business units, across countries and across the company.
  • Develops and maintains, in coordination with the government affairs group, on-going relationships with key electronic and print media in local communities served by Bunge.
  • Creates and maintains materials to assist local managers in their community and industry affairs efforts.
  • Supports communications efforts with government affairs office in Washington, D.C. and global communications office in White Plains as needed.

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in public relations or related field
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing and Interwoven
  • Some travel may be required
