2009 Media Halls of Fame

Five public relations professionals - two of them active members of the St. Louis Chapter of PRSA - are among 20 Media Halls of Fame honorees selected in 2009 by their fellow professionals in their particular field.

Monsanto's Glynn Young, APR, Fellow PRSA and a current member of the PRSA-St. Louis board, and now retired but former Monsanto PR executive Karen Marshall were among the new inducees as nominated and voted upon by their peers. Marshall is a former PRSA-St. Louis Chapter president. Other PR selections include: AmerenUE's Susan Gallagher and former Fleishman-Hillard executives Ruth Jacobson and Al Kerth.

The St. Louis Media Halls of Fame were established to recognize those St Louisans who have, in their work here or elsewhere, made a major contribution to their respective media. The areas of recognition are divided into four segments: Print (Established in 2006), Radio (Established in 2002), Television (Established in 2006), and Advertising/Public Relations (Established in 2007).

Voters for the Ad/PR Hall of Fame were members of the Ad Club of Greater St. Louis and the St. Louis chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

New members of the St. Louis Print Hall of Fame:

The five new members were nominees receiving the most votes as cast by the St. Louis chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

St. Louis area members of the local NATAS chapter voted on TV Hall of Fame members.
