1. Challenges or Opportunities? Communicating in Uncertain Times An all-day professional growth seminar (or luncheon only) is set for Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, at the Sheraton St. Louis City Center (downtown). Cost for the full-day, including a continental breakfast and closing wine and cheese reception is $80 for PRSA members; $95 non-members; $65 students. Cost for the luncheon only is $25 PRSA members; $35 non-members; $15 students. For a complete list of speakers, topics and times go to program. For a bio on the headline luncheon speaker, Tom Hoog, Hill & Knowlton USA go to speaker. For registration details go here.
2. Chapter Membership Directory Now open At long last, our St. Louis PRSA Membership Directory is available to members online: Here's what you need to do: 1) click our chapter Web site http://prsastlouis.org 2) click on to the "Members Only" portion in the blue banner 3) Enter your User Name (your e-mail that you use for PRSA stuff) 4) Enter your Password (your PRSA membership number-see your ID card or invoice)
And you're there - able to pull up the entire membership or someone alphabetically. If you need to update any information, change it with National. Simply go to http://www.prsa.org. Log in to "MemberNet." Open "My Profile" and hit the "edit" button to make any changes. The only thing you cannot change is your name. If, for some reason you do NOT know your Member number, you should be able to enter your e-mail address and National will e-mail you your number.
Our plan is to ONCE a month, download the Chapter information provided by National to create and update our Chapter Directory. People who have just joined or are in the process of joining will NOT be listed until they have been provided a membership card from National.
Feel free to print out a current list but like any membership directories use it for personal use only. It is for you - to find someone you met a lunch, a mentor, to seek information about handling a specific public relations issue.
3. Members Only meeting Dec. 19 To thank the more than 260 area professionals who have been or are just now joining PRSA and supporting our programs, we'll close out the year with a Members' Only fete at the Junior League. KMOX personality Charles Brennan will be the headliner. He will offer a lighthearted talk on broadcasting stories and anecdotes. For the dates and programs through March 2004 and a biographical sketch of our December speaker go to programs.
