December Program for the light hearted (and Members Only)

For several years PRSA-St. Louis has looked at ways to make membership a little more valuable. A $100 savings to members who attend at least 10 monthly lunches a year is one way. Here’s another. Our December 11 luncheon, to be held at the Junior League, will be totally FREE – that’s no charge for lunch or the speaker – to PRSA members and PRSSA members in good standing.

Betty Cuniberti, whose whit and look at light can be examined in the recent St. Louis Post-Dispatch column: “If mall opening is shopping Olympics, she's the Jamaican bobsled team” will give attendees a holiday-type break and insight that can help all PR practitioners look at their work from a different perspective. Want to attend but not a member? Then check out an additional membership incentive offered below by National if you join between now and the end of the year. Of course you’ll need to bring your application form and checks to the luncheon. Watch for a sign-up soon.

"Member Get A Member" returns in November & December

Recruit a new member to PRSA in November and December and you will be eligible to win prizes, including round-trip airline tickets, travel vouchers and other items. Every member who recruits new members will earn "PRSA Dollars," valid for PRSA's National programs, services or publications. Every new member gets a gift, too. For new members who join during this time, PRSA will waive the $65 initiation fee.

Please complete an application (you can pick one up at the November luncheon, access one through www.prsa.org or we can fax you the special form. Mail your application with payment through the St. Louis Chapter office – 405 Maple Leaf Ct., Manchester, MO 63021. If you have any questions contact Terry Barber at 636-256-3090. The waiving of the initiation fee applies to full membership applicants only. Local chapter dues of $35 should be added as well.

Visit MemberNet and You Could Be a Winner

Members can update their contact information, find colleagues in our online member directory and read other news about PRSA in the MemberNet area of the National PRSA Web site. Can’t remember your password? They’ll be happy to e-mail it to you. To access MemberNet, log onto www.prsa.org and click the Member Login icon or go directly here.

BONUS: PRSA National will select one member each week from those who visit MemberNet between now and Dec. 31, 2002, to win a $25 certificate valid toward PRSA merchandise or the cost of any PRSA professional development program. So now it pays to log in!

It pays to attend - our meetings

Danielle Oser, BSW Consulting, Inc., found it pays to attend PRSA-St. Louis luncheons and to always have a business card on hand. She was the winner of 12 months of Burrelle's Media Directory Online (an $1,895 value) at our October luncheon. Danielle's name was drawn at random by our October sponsors, Burrelle's and VMS.

Got your renewal notice? Consider sending the form our way

Many of are members renew their memberships at the end of the calendar year. If you are among those who have received your notice from National and are in the process of renewing, consider the following option. If you can, complete the form and write two checks – one for St. Louis chapter dues and the other for your National – and mail the form and checks to our St. Louis chapter office. We can further process the material, make sure our records are updated, and at the same time keep ALL of your local dues within the chapter. Otherwise $5 out of the $35 local dues you pay is kept by National for processing and handling. You can also put your National portion on a credit card and send us a check for the local dues portion only.
