The "Next Step" On The Internet For PRSA St. Louis

PRSA St. Louis decided in 2002 to establish a new Web site that could be updated on a regular basis to provide timely information to members. Chapter president Denise Bentele Heintz, APR, president-elect Suzanne M. Holroyd, PhD, and Web chair Burton St. John, APR, wanted a site that would provide excellent service at a reasonable cost; a technologically advanced site that officers, directors and committee chairs could maintain.

Response by Bryan Consulting Inc.

The answer was provided by Bryan Consulting, a firm of senior professionals in technology and communications headed by Jerry L. Bryan, APR, Fellow PRSA. Among its services, the firm develops and hosts websites using their Content Management System (CMS) which makes it no longer necessary to construct pages one at a time or call specialists for every update. The CMS stores information in a database and displays it in a template to create pages. Chapter officers can update the site in plain English, requiring no special tools or technical skills. Bryan Consulting developed the user interface and visual design for the site, and did the programming to meld it with the CMS hosted on their servers.
