1) May-June Membership Promotion

PRSA National is waiving the $65 initiation fee for prospects who join and mention the promotion code SPRING2009. New members pay $225 for their National dues; St. Louis Chapter dues are $50. Sign up here.

2) Hardship Plan for Renewing Members who are Unemployed

PRSA is reaching out to members who have lost their jobs recently whereby qualified members receive a one-time reduction in their National dues. This has been announced to members who are unemployed, are up for renewal, and have been members for five or more years but if you were in the process of being laid off, you might not have received this. Click to read theterms of the plan.

3) Young Professionals plan three summer outings

PRSA St. Louis Young Professionals are planning three summer after-hours outings. The first will be "Twilight Tuesdays" at the Missouri History Museum, Tuesday, June 9, with Dr. Zhivegas. Corrie Hendrix is heading up this event and will be sending out an evite soon. If you'd like to help, shoot her an e-mail.

4) Member Demographics sought; Update your profile and you could be a winner

To better meet members' needs, PRSA has updated and enhanced the demographic categories maintained on members. The new categories are:

  • Position (i.e., level such as director, manager, staff)
  • Organizational setting (i.e., agency, corporate, government)
  • Industry
  • Area of specialization (i.e., media relations, corporate communications)

Please take a few minutes to help PRSA serve you better. Tell us your job title, organizational setting, industry and area(s) of specialization. Each month, May through August, National is randomly selecting five members who update their demographics information to receive gifts, including a $100 Amazon gift card and items from the PRSA Store. You could be a winner!

Update your demographics information on MemberNet today. If you are renewing your membership by mail or fax, you also can update your demographics on the back of the dues invoice. With your help, the St. Louis Chapter will be able to request a profile of our members with current and complete information, which will help us to know and serve you more effectively.

5) Value for Members - FREE Webinar, June 16, on Social Media

Next FREE Webinar: Using Social Media for Disaster Response and Recovery, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. (St. Louis time), Tuesday, June 16, live or as archive. Check it out and other upcoming Webinars.

Members can renew with quarterly payments. To sign up, e-mail Jackie Gonsalves, member services billing manager, or call her at (212) 460-1492. The option is for renewing members only and is not available through online renewal.
